Blue Jay Surveys is an invite-only survey platform available for us Aussies. You can earn rewards completing surveys you first qualify for, and then complete. Rewards start at $1 for around 5-8 minutes of work and go up to $10 for longer surveys.

About Blue Jay Surveys

Blue Jay Surveys is one of the more exclusive ways to make money doing surveys. They say their platform is invite only, but they currently have an active signup page available, so get in quick before they take it down again.

They’ve been around for a little while now, with their parent company Quality Online Research Pty Ltd first being established in 2010. They’re also a member of the Australian Market & Social Research Society.

In addition to sending out surveys to their members, Blue Jay Surveys hosts a biannual $2,000 competition giveaway. You don’t need to do anything to enter, just complete one survey and you’re in. If if you don’t qualify for the survey, you’ll still get an entry. It’s not as much as some of the other $5,000 competitions other survey sites hold, but it’s still a pretty good prize to win.

Is Blue Jay Surveys Legit?

Yep! Blue Jay Surveys are one of the companies who aim to be as open and transparent about how their platform works, how their users will get paid, and are always open to any other questions you have.

For example, on the front page of their website, they state their parent company (Quality Online Research Pty Ltd) is an AMSRO member. That’s the Association of Market and Social Research Organisations.

In essence, being a member of AMSRO means they do their best to maintain an ethical and morally sound survey platform for you to participate in. You can learn more about AMSRO and what their mission is here.

Quality Online Research (parent company) has been around since 2010 and has headquarters based in Sydney. Much more comforting than joining a site with headquarters in some remote overseas country.

How Much Can You Earn?

You can potentially earn around $1 for a few minutes every time Blue Jay sends you a survey.

On the odd occasion, you may receive a longer survey in your inbox. Don’t worry! They’re going to pay you more as well. Up to $10 for the really big ones.

You will need to reach $20 before you can cash out. This is just one of the methods many survey companies use to keep members active.

Some Information On How Blue Jay's Survey Platform Works
Some Information On How Blue Jay Surveys Works

What Kind Of Surveys Do They Have?

Nothing too out of the ordinary. You can expect to find your typical product questionnaires, how you feel about certain things etc. Most of the usual stuff!

Let me put it this way, I never opened one of their surveys and thought to myself – what on earth!?

How Does Blue Jay Surveys Pay?

In cold hard cash. For every survey you complete, you’ll receive a dollar amount for your efforts.

Once that dollar amount reaches $20, you can choose one of two methods to claim your money.

Paypal

By far, the most popular (or at least the most favourite method by survey takers) to get paid.

All you need is an email, the transfer is extremely fast, and you can then use the cash for whatever you like. Bottle of Chardy for some! Box of nappies for others!

Flexi eGift Card

If you’d rather prefer to spend your money through a gift card option, this one’s for you.

A Flexi eGift Card will give you access to a huge range of stores and shops in Australia.

JB Hi-Fi, Coles, Dominos, David Jones, Myer, Kmart, iTunes – whatever you can think of, they likely have it. But it’s always good to double check beforehand!

Click here for a full list of all the stores you can spend the money you earned from your surveys.

Do They Do Anything Special?

They do! Twice a year, they give away a bonus $2,000 to a few of their lucky members.

To enter the draw, all you have to do is complete at least one survey in the time period. But don’t worry! If you didn’t qualify for any surveys, it’s all good, you’ll still get an entry.

As long as you try to participate in one of their research studies, you’ll be in the draw to win. A share of that $2,000 would definitely give my budget a nice little wiggle room!

Ok, it’s not the same as MyView’s $2,000 monthly giveaway, but it’s a start.

Bonus tip: Every survey you complete counts as an entry. 1 survey = 1 entry. 10 surveys = 10 entries.

On a side note, head to the best survey sites in Australia to maximise your paid survey earnings.

What Do I Think About Blue Jay Surveys?

All up, it’s been pretty smooth so far. I mean, they aren’t my favourite survey platform, but they’re definitely not my least favourite either.

I never had any problems with my payments, but I haven’t had that many (under 5) – unlike a few of other people seem to have had (see the reviews below).

What Do Other People Think?

Unfortunately, there are very few reviews of their platform by other survey takers on the internet.

And those that have posted reviews, have shared quite negative experiences:

I have sent them about 10 emails and they never respondMark, Date Unknowned

I have completed 2 surveys, one at the end of August and one on 12 September and have not been paid for either Janet, Date Unknown
